Jill English, evaluator and program planner for R2E2, has more than twenty-five years experience in education, health education, and health promotion. She has conceptualized and directed several large-scale school and community-based health promotion demonstration and research projects. These projects were in a variety of health-related areas, including violence prevention; alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use prevention programs; and nutrition programs. Although her focus has been in school-based programming and evaluation, Jill has also worked with several community-based organizations and worksites to create and evaluate health promotion programs.

In the areas of nutrition and physical activity, Jill assisted with the implementation of the California Department of Health Services Harvest of the Month program’s standardized materials in California schools, as well as the Harvest of the Month program for Hawthorne School District and the Los Angeles County Office of Education. Jill also assisted with the impact evaluation of three pilot physical activity programs for California Department of Health Services.

In addition to her evaluation experience, Jill has prepared teachers to address the health issues and education needs of their students and created numerous health education curricula for school-age youth, young adults, worksites, and media outlets. Jill has published in the field of health promotion; presented at many national, state, and local conferences; and served on advisory and working committees for numerous organizations and agencies. This extensive background in school-based health promotion gives Jill the expertise needed to design and implement school-based evaluation.

When Jill is not working, she likes to go to the beach, read, cook, and spend time with friends.
